Her voice has carried far and long.
A star for Lea on the Walk so grand—
First Filipina with permanent stand.

Broadway and international star Lea Salonga will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 4, becoming the first Filipina to receive the distinction. The ceremony will take place at 6255 Hollywood Boulevard.

Historic Recognition

Salonga will receive the 2,855th star in the Live Performance category. Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez called her a trailblazer whose career has inspired audiences worldwide. Fellow Mulan performer Ming-Na Wen is scheduled to speak at the event.

Career Highlights

Salonga won a Tony Award for originating the role of Kim in Miss Saigon and provided the singing voices for Disney’s Princess Jasmine and Mulan. She was named a Disney Legend and continues to perform on stage and screen, including an upcoming role in DreamWorks’ Forgotten Island.

Additional Honors

Two days after the Walk of Fame ceremony, Salonga will receive the Icon Award at the Manila International Film Festival’s closing gala. The dual tributes celebrate more than four decades of work across theater, film and music.
