Harrison Ford Models Indiana Jones Animatronic for New Disney Ride

At eighty-four the fedora still fits,
Indy’s face on a robot that sits.
Snakes await in the temple below,
Ford’s likeness ready for the next show.

Harrison Ford revealed at D23 that he is the actual model for the Indiana Jones Audio-Animatronics figure in the upcoming attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The ride, titled Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, marks the first time Ford’s likeness will appear in a Disney Parks attraction.

A New Adventure in Tropical Americas

The attraction will replace the former DINOSAUR ride and send guests into an ancient temple near a cenote, facing bats, scorpions and a serpentine guardian. Ford recorded a message telling fans he is “coming to Walt Disney World soon.”

First Look at the Animatronic

Imagineers displayed a digital model of the figure during the showcase. No opening date has been announced, but construction is underway in the new Tropical Americas land.
